“Interior/Exterior High Gloss Enamel” paint for office floor?
Question by Eazy: "Interior/Exterior High Gloss Enamel" paint for office floor?
I have "Interior/Exterior 100% Latex High Gloss Enamel" paint from American Tradition. Can I use it to paint my office floor? It's wooden floor but it's already painted and I just need to paint it over with a different color. Is it resistant enough? Will it dry quickly? Is it easy to clean? Thanks a bunch in advance!

Hi,
If the can doesn't mention for floors then it will wear rather quickly, also hi gloss can be slippery & show any imperfections. You're better off with a 100% acrylic floor paint.

Better to use paint made for floors. It will wear better. You can use what you have but be prepared for it to wear out faster than floor paint. High gloss will be easy to clean until it gets scuffed and then it won’t clean so well. Latex usually dries enough to walk on in a few hours but you should wait at least 24 hours before putting furniture back on the floor.
Careful many times the floor paints are oil-based.Simply painting over them with latex paint will just cause chipping and peeling. Better to use an oil based primer tinted the color you want then 1-2 top coats of a quality latex floor paint.
