Where should I buy bedroom and office furniture?
Question by U: Where should I buy bedroom and office furniture?
i am leaning towards either ikea or west elm...i like the type/style of furniture they sell...and both are within my price range...what other options do i have if i want to stick to this price range and this type of furniture?

Answer by Jayde n
craigslist.com
I furnished my entire living room, bedroom, and kitchen area with name brand, good condition, used furniture for just over $ 700. What a discount! It's private owner transactions, you should view and check items thoroughly before purchase. There are usually two types of sellers, sellers who WANT to sell because they are upgrading, and sellers who NEED to sell because they are moving. The moving sellers offer the best qualities and prices are usually low enough to make you forget about IKEA. Only downside to this is that more often than not (unless the people offer delivery) you would have to pick the items up yourself.

“Interior/Exterior High Gloss Enamel” paint for office floor?
Question by Eazy: "Interior/Exterior High Gloss Enamel" paint for office floor?
I have "Interior/Exterior 100% Latex High Gloss Enamel" paint from American Tradition. Can I use it to paint my office floor? It's wooden floor but it's already painted and I just need to paint it over with a different color. Is it resistant enough? Will it dry quickly? Is it easy to clean? Thanks a bunch in advance!

Hi,
If the can doesn't mention for floors then it will wear rather quickly, also hi gloss can be slippery & show any imperfections. You're better off with a 100% acrylic floor paint.

How much do INTERIOR GLASS WALLS cost?
Question by kikbax: How much do INTERIOR GLASS WALLS cost?
I am trying to determine the BASIC cost for standard interior glass walls for internal offices. I know different types will cost different prices, but I am just trying to get a basic price range estimate for pre-budgeting. For example, let's say we are building a standard 10'x12′ internal glass wall office. How much would this cost? Or better yet, how much compared to standard dry wall? Thanks!
Best answer:
Answer by DIY Doc
Well it would be absolutely neccesary to price glass very specific to an office, first of all, and a safety type for liability issues more than anything. Certainly it couldn't be window pane.
You may also not find "Basic" here, but you should connect with local glass suppliers, especially those dealing commercially. 10 x 12 in single sheets or even split to double 4 x 5's would not only be heavy, and special orders, but cost would far outweigh that of drywall. I have no clue by how much, but consider that a sheet of 1/2″, 4 x 8 drywall is about $ 10. You might expect a glass sheet to be more than 100 times that cost.

what colors to match with burgandy office furniture?
Question by Costa Mesa Mayor: what colors to match with burgandy office furniture?
We are going to paint our office. We are having a hard time picking good colors.

Cream, forest green, if for a women, pale pink.
In my husbands office the carpeting was varigated, so we used not pink but pale salmon and darker salmon below the chair rail.
So you could consider 2 shades of the same color.
Good Luck, it is a challenge.

Q&A: Not including IKEA, where are some good places to shop for office furniture?
Question by ®PsychologyGuy: Not including IKEA, where are some good places to shop for office furniture?
I'm trying to find a really nice computer desk that isn't huge and bulky, but offers a good amount of space and features. (outlets, cable openings, etc). Nothing against IKEA, its just that is the first place everyone says and I kind of like options. Online or retail. Sadly, office stores like OfficeMax, OfficeDepot, Walmart, Target and Staples have next to nothing in their stores.

Where can I find businesses that are looking to buy office furniture?
Question by bretk: Where can I find businesses that are looking to buy office furniture?
I was curious if anyone knew of any websites where businesses post ads or anything like that looking to buy office furniture. What would be a good place to start?

Answer by Matt O
All the businesses I have worked for, and my personal business, have/has always done business with established furniture sellers. In other words, we called them. I would think the best thing for you to do would be to advertise, depending on your scale. If you've only got a few one-off pieces you are trying to get rid of, craigslist or something similar would be good. If you're going into business, you might have to just bite the bullet and buy some advertising.
Best of luck to you either way.

If you are a counselor, how would you design your office?
Question by Essence: If you are a counselor, how would you design your office?
Money is no issue, neither is location. Totally up to you.
Consider the age group you are counseling, I am thinking about young adults (16-23).

I would use warm and inviting colors as warm coral and yellow. Current movie and music posters on the wall. Sitting arrangement would show openness and safety since as a counselor I would be giving advice & listening.

Q&A: Who should I contact to help me design and maximize office space?
Question by PopeFred: Who should I contact to help me design and maximize office space?

Well, we don't even know what country you are in or even what size space you are working with. Look for ‘office organizers' in your city by doing a Google search. Expect them to want a small fortune for their ‘consulting' activities. Most of them won't lift a finger -- just charge you an arm-and-a-leg for fancy watercolor drawings and some architectural floor plan IDEAS.
-------------------------
Personally, I would be patient enough to try a few set-ups myself and see which one seems to be most efficient and go with that. Tweak the design as needed from there.
If there is some space that hardly ever gets used, move whatever equipment that is NOT being used out of that space and find a more efficient way to store it. Wash, rinse, repeat -- and then you will have an efficient workspace.

Where can I get donated office furniture for a non-profit?
Question by gordondym: Where can I get donated office furniture for a non-profit?
I work for a non-profit in St. Louis, MO, and we're setting up a small satellite office (just two people). We need desks bookshelves, cabinets, etc. Anyone know of contact people to get donations of office furniture. In addition, if you know places that donate supplies, more than willing to take those as well. thanks!
Best answer:
Answer by home schooling mother
Go to a local furniture store and ask if they would like to donate. Ask other supporters if they would donate money for office furniture.
Also, in your newsletter, put it on the wish list. Make a request for furniture in a letter to the editor talking about what a fine non-profit you are involved with. 😉
