I think a good one for you would be an Impatiens plant. They don’t like direct sun. I had one bloom and last indoors for over three years one time.
African violets will flower if there is adequate light. Is your office bright? Cyclamens will also flower indoors. The main problem with both A.V. and cyclamen is people tend to overwater them–kill them with kindness. Once a week is usually adequate for a plant out of the sun.
If you work in a dimly lit office you can try nonflowering plants like phylodendrons or spider plants. Both of these have interesting foliage which is a plus since you won’t be getting flowers.
